Everyone! An aquatics and fitness center will be a gathering place for all members of the community. The center will be for young and old and everyone in between.

Currently, parents face the inconvenience and expense of driving their young children to pools in other towns to learn to swim. Without their own pool, the members of the Winchester High School swim teams must wake up daily at 4:00 a.m. during swim season and drive to Medford High School to practice in their rental time. Adults are actively looking for opportunities to maintain or improve their fitness levels. Our seniors have few in-town opportunities for exercise and fitness programs. A Winchester aquatics facility will keep dollars in our town and greatly expand the town’s recreational opportunities.

CHRIS NELSON, Director of Winchester Recreation

The benefits of having access to a community pool for the Recreation Department are endless. THE RECREATION DEPARTMENT WILL BE ABLE TO BRING THE WINCHESTER COMMUNITY TOGETHER BY OFFERING CLASSES THERE that will teach life skills, promote physical fitness, and assist with physical therapy.

ELIZABETH SCOTT, Masters-Level Swimmer

A LOCAL POOL WILL ADD TO THE SOCIAL FABRIC OF OUR TOWN. Swimming brought my husband and me together many years ago and we continue to swim together and with friends for physical and emotional health.
A community pool is a wonderful place for people of all generations to gather and stay healthy.
